Before the game against the Milwaukee Brewers, first baseman Anthony Rizzo recorded himself asking the crowd to help La Stella find a "life partner" at the request of President Theo Epstein and General Manager Jed Hoyer, ESPN reports.

The above video aired for hundreds -- now thousands -- to see.

“Tommy is really, really lonely,” Rizzo said in the video. “It’s really kind of sad.

"He’s desperate and really needs to find a life partner. We want to help Tommy find love.”

The prank war began when La Stella parked in Epstein and Hoyer's reserved parking spots at the Cubs' practice facility, the article says.

The front office retaliated by replacing La Stella's uniform with office attire, forcing La Stella to wear khaki pants during drills, ESPN says.

Days later, La Stella put a bouncy house in the exec's parking spots. It ended Friday.
